Witness Haida Gwaii’s vast population of endemic plants, marine-life and seabirds, learn about ancient Haida Villages, and visit modern day memorial totem poles at the Kay.

Day 1:

  • Meet at Daajing Giids Visitor Center shelter for 8:30am for pre trip orientation
  • Launch from the public beach below Wharf St in Daajing Giids 
  • Cross the Skidegate Inlet towards the island of Maude to view a newly carved memorial totem pole
  • Lunch provided after totem pole site visit
  • Resume paddling for another couple of hours before settling on a camp site on the south side of Haina

Day 2:

  • Breakfast provided before setting off for another day of paddling
  • Possible stop for a quick tour of the Maude Island farm to learn about their off-grid island farming system
  • Lunch at one of the many pleasant beaches on the island
  • Return to Daajing Giids for ~4:00pm

  • All guests must complete a waiver prior to departure
  • We ask our guests to come with an open mind and respect for the place we call home, along with the wildlife found on its shores and below its waters
  • Minimum 2 people, maximum 10 people
  • Participants must be 10 years or older and accompanied by parent or guardian if under 19 years
  • No kayaking experience necessary
