Join us for a five day tour of the Skidegate inlet and Ts’aahl narrows.

Paddle to the rugged West Coast of Haida Gwaii while traversing dramatic channels expore the splendor of the Daawuuxusda Conservancy Area.

This trip is suited for people with some kayaking experience.

Day 1:

  • Meet at Daajing Giids Visitor Center shelter for 8:30am for pre trip orientation
  • Launch from the public beach below Wharf St in Daajing Giids 
  • Cross Bearskin Bay to Maude or Sandilands Island to camp for the evening

Day 2:

  • Paddle the constriction of Skidegate Narrows, taking plenty of time to fish or explore wildlife and intertidal while working around the tides
  • Camp before or after Skidegate Narrows – the main divide between the two largest islands on the archipelago

Day 3:

  • Paddling from the narrows towards Armentieres Channel, stopping for lunch near Government Creek  
  • Camp in Buck Channel for the evening

Day 4:

  • Weather permitting, we paddle the west side of Chaatl Island to experience the open Pacific.
  • After some lunch, we cross to the south side of Buck Channel or North Chaatl to our campsite.

Day 5:

  • On our final morning enjoy breakfast, relax and linger at the campsite before taking a forest walk or beach walk.
  • Watch wildlife and enjoy the wilderness as we await water taxi pick up (ticket included in cost of trip)
  • Return between 1:00pm-2:00pm

  • All guests must complete a waiver prior to departure
  • We ask our guests to come with an open mind and respect for the place we call home, along with the wildlife found on its shores and below its waters
  • Minimum 4 people, maximum 10 people
  • Participants must be 10 years or older and accompanied by parent or guardian if under 19 years
  • No kayaking experience necessary, some experience preferred
