Circumnavigate Maude Island, paddle between steep mountain valleys, old growth forests, and salmon spawning estuaries.

Day 1:

  • Meet at Daajing Giids Visitor Center shelter for 8:30am for pre trip orientation
  • Launch from the public beach below Wharf St in Daajing Giids 
  • Paddle across Bearskin Bay towards the Lina Island Narrows, stopping on one of the neighbouring islands for lunch
  • Island hop throughout Kagan Bay, settling in the bay for a scenic evening to camp

Day 2:

  • Explore the Long Inlet, home to Canada‚Äôs largest subspecies of black bear, surrounded by a steep mountain backdrop
  • Have lunch and exit the Long Inlet, then head towards Burnt Island
  • Camp on Burnt Island

Day 3:

  • Enjoy a shoreside breakfast before paddling around Maude Island with its rich intertidal slopes and occasional hosting of marine mammals
  • The tour draws to close as you cross Skidegate Inlet, returning to the Daajing Giids Visitor Center where it began for ~4:00pm

  • All guests must complete a waiver prior to departure
  • We ask our guests to come with an open mind and respect for the place we call home, along with the wildlife found on its shores and below its waters
  • Minimum 2 people, maximum 10 people
  • Participants must be 10 years or older and accompanied by parent or guardian if under 19 years
  • No kayaking experience necessary
